With around 28500 attendees, the New York Times Travel Show just saw its best yet turnout in the past 8 years, in 2015.

Also, the media was heavily involved in previous month’s 3-day show at Jacob Javits Center, with seven-hundred members on hand this year. Well, hundred and thirty of the more than five-hundred exhibitors from all across the world were making their NYT Travel Show debut at this year’s show.

For New Yorkers, who were planning to move out of town on Wednesday morning, thanksgiving travel was halted because of several flight cancellations at the local airport.
The authorities revealed that harsh weather conditions were responsible for the cancellations. According to FlightAware (air traffic website) data, 34 flights were cancelled at LaGuardia Airport and 51 flights at EWR or Newark International Airport. Until Wednesday morning, about 35 percent of the cancelled flights at the EWR should have departed while 5 percent of the scheduled morning traffic was called off at LaGuardia Airport.
Prior to 10 am on Wednesday morning, about 10 flights were cancelled out of JFK, 1 out of Islip, and 6 from Westchester. Due to flight cancellations, there’re numerous travelers trapped at LGA airport. Weather forecasters and met departments have predicted heavy rain and looming snowstorms are likely to hit the northeastern region throughout Wednesday as well as on Thursday. Earlier the Emergency Management Office issued warnings that approximately 3-5 inches of wet, heavy snow will cover the Big Apple on Wednesday. This will deteriorate the driving conditions.
